    I’ve worked in EMS / Fire for 20 years. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve used one. But the few amount of times they were indicated, I and the pt were happy that we had them.

    Why are the answers at the bottom of the email wrong and the video answers are different?

    • @Limmereducation
      @Limmereducation 4 дні тому

      The answers here are the same answers as in the recent email, and they are the correct answers. The answer keys just look different because they are in different orders. But for each, the hypotension column includes beta blocker, pressure on carotid sinus, and decreased vascular tone; while the hypertension column includes intracranial bleeding and increased stroke volume.

    The biggest danger of AI in healthcare is that some management type will look to replace the paramedic with AI. You'll call for an ambulance and a self driving Uber will show up and in the back will be a self service checkout type thing. It'll probably have contactless though, so the insurance companies will be happy. "But you live in the UK!" The Tories are doing their level best to gut the NHS. A US system is in our future.

    The listening to audio (like conf calls) and then writing up notes and actions is going to be where there are real world labour saving efficiencies to be had.

    I wpuldnt personally trust AI to be used alone for fiagnosis or treatmentbplans but i think it could definitely be helpful to a doctor or paramedic as a resource.

    It would be easy to replace a doctor with AI because at least 50% of the responses could be: it’s just your period. Take some Tylenol

    AI could be a real aide to assessing a patient. It could ask questions I missed. It could suggest assessment options. Add in photos too, keeping privacy in mind. AI could augment but be careful not to rely on it to do what the EMT or Medic is trained for.

    Trusting AI is like trusting for medical advice is like trusting Warren Buffet for financial advice while he is high on PCP.

    In a clinical setting when CQI, patient quality of care and everything related to better documentation and treatment after initial evaluation yes, on actual protocols and procedures not recommended. Could be a tool for making better assessment and recall possible steps towards above already said, can decrease severity of missed points during patient care. But more information needed.
